i have to respectfully disagree with you Pomona on the argument that what people do in private in the bedroom on their own volition is an indicator of their character or even the ability to execute thier office in the case of leaders. For example take one of the founding fathers Ben Franklin who in my opinion was also a great man, signed the declaration of independence, face is on our currency, and in my opinion was one of the great geniuses of our time, but was a womanizing, prostitution soliciting dirt bag when it came to that sort of thing. My opinion of him being a great man and a pioneer does not change because of that. You really don't get taught those facts about him in school either though.

Well we don't have a holiday to specifically honor Ben Franklin.

Pomona, no we don't have a holiday for Ben Franklin, but by your logic, then we should take Ben's face off our currency, erase his name from the Declaration of Independence, because despite the fantastic things he did for our country, and indelible mark he left in both Physics and science, he was a divorcee many times over, probably smoked lots of marijuana, was a sex addict who solicited prostitutes like it was his job,, and the schools don't teach us that either.
My point is, his dark side had nothing to do with his genius and ability to do the things he did that were great that advanced our society forward. I don't mean this in a negative way towards you but i say to people who are judging great mean like that by the whole moral code from conservative religion and our judeo-christian foundation of our society, QUIT BEING PUSSIES about it and respect these men for being REAL MEN as well as doing the great things they did for us. because these people were real men out there, doin what men do, banging lots chics and moving our society forward on top of that. Thats what real men do hahahha.

Well that's what men do, most do it in fact at some point in our lives or another. To say that's what real men do is a stretch and if you believe that, your definition of a man is suspect. Is that the conduct you'd like for your father to have toward your mother?

I had to answer no to your question about that though because it concerned the emotional dynamic of me not wanting to see my mother get hurt so i couldn't lie to you and say anything but no, that was a sticky question for me but to get back on point about MLK, I still stand by my opinion that yes i do think he is deserving of a holiday just like Ben Franklin is deserving of being on our currency, and etc etc, because where would our society be without these great men? Yea they may have shown signs of being human, and being a man and banging chics and prostitutes but without their works, we wouldn't have electricity, or women still wouldn't be able to vote, black people still wouldn't be allowed to have an education, we would be years and years behind socially, and in science and physics. So i say seperate church and state, and seperate the bedroom from the great works they represented and accomplished that helped our nation and society.

so i guess we can agree to disagree on all that but i say if that is so wrong,, i don't wanna be right! hahaha.
