If anyone is in Vegas and hears the AVN awards can they post the results for best TS tape and Ts performer here.
Obviously an Evil Angel tape will win (but this is the first year Joey has had competition) but who will win the best performer? If it's Vanity we know that AVN is, as we all expect, in the pockets of the people paying the most advertising.

I called it exactly.
The awards are a joke - see how many nominations there were for best tape - basically everyone who has advertised a TS tape over the last year. I've spent at least $10k on advertising with AVN this year so was guaranteed a nomination - Evil Angel produces great stuff and not to take anything away from Nacho who produced a great tape - but not other company releasing TS tapes pays AVN that much advertising.
Vanity - almost exclusive to Evil Angel?

Vo, Gia, Joanna all deserved it more than Vanity. Nomi X (god bless her) was there because I nominated her, she wasn't even on a nominated tape.

Think it's time for some specific TS award show?

My feeling on it is that I would have definitely rather seen Joanna or Vo win the award because we are friends and they both are GREAT performers, but I don't think you can say just because Vanity won that the award (at least that one) was fixed. If I were nominated, and lost to Vanity, I would actually be cool with that. In addition to the Evil Angel stuff, she did some pretty cool and a bit different projects last year like the interractive DVD and reverse gang bang dealio. You have to give props to a girl who can bang 5 guys in one scene and 5 girls in another. That's a lot of work. She also talks nasty and has a good rapport with her fans during a video. A lot of that comes from experience but I think Joanna and others will give her more competition next year.

People that know me know that I am not a huge fan of Vanity as I feel she does self-promote a bit much and demean others in her same line of work in doing so. However, as a performer she is good and very popular. Also, there were years where I think she more clearly was the biggest game in town where there was no award. Finally, there are some odd characters in Vanity's fan club, but you can't bust every one of them out. A lot of them are members of mine and Joanna's groups as well and just nice guys.

As far as the other awards in a very general sense, I have a very close male friend in the str8 porn world who was nominated (directly and indirectly) in the neighborhood of 26 times this year alone and walked away with 0 wins. The odds of that happening in a wholey fair competition are astronomically unlikely.

Question though... How would you make it fair? A web vote would surely be tainted because Internet savvy fans would figure out ways to cheat and keep revoting. I can tell you that from an advertising perspective this happens on shemale toplists all the time. Maybe a vote by adult web masters of registered sites? Even then, that wouldn't reflect accurately since it wouldn't really reflect the opinions of the fans. Maybe something like a magazine mail in readers poll or registered fan (to a free site). It would take some pretty dedicated people to keep reregistering on a site with 50 survey questions, embedded key word, and/or e-mail account verification.

I also attended the AVN awards as well as worked at the sineplex booth on Saturday with kayla Coxx , Carmen Cruz and well Vanity until the bathroom incident. Though I had never met her before she was very short with me and couldnt have been bothered when I tried to make conversation so just because of the first impression I was rooting for Nomi x or Joanna. I was also ashamed on behalf of the tg community when she pulled the stunt and got arrested before the awards it only made it more of a laughing matter. At the awards banquet I left not long after being there because of a few comments and finding out that the category wouldnt be announced with the main awards. ::SHRUGS:::

I enjoyed the new people I met and it was good as always seeing Allanah, Gia and Joanna. God knows I have tried the later part of 2003 to become more of name among the video girls but its not an easy thing. 2 companys booked a shoot in LA and after hotel, flight and travel expensed both cancelled. OH WELL One of the companys had a really good reason and rescheduled theother and I quote " decided to shoot carmen cruz because of her rising popularity" I guess the companys will continue to shoot one group of girls and fuck the old saying "variety is the spice of life" LOL

I applaud Joanna with her efforts and would love to see a tg related awared show and I also would help anyway I could . Maybe Grooby along with other sites could plan a 2004 show and turn it into an annual show like AVN. Hopeful wishes I guess.

Well Im in LA for the weekend Im going to relax and then go back to Florida and work on my Avn contacts and hopefully Allanah, Me, Joanna, Vicki, etc will get enough video work for a nomination this year.
