I work with some ignorant fuckers.
They are very homophobic.
The first guy I work with is from South America and is the definition of a metrosexual.
He wears very form fitting clothes and always dresses up plus he puts stuff in his hair to make it stand up.
He is very foo foo to me.
Any ways he was always going on about "san francisco" and "all the gay people there".
I was like..."Just dont go if you dont like it".
This guy goes on and on about it.
So then he is telling me about a guy at his church(oh yeah he is a "christian")
who was coming on to him and being very inappropriate.
I told him what that dude did was wrong but maybe he sends out the wrong message by the way he dresses.
He was like no no no.
I told him...dude...you know what a metrosexual is?
Your one of them.
Your very well groomed and wear dress clothes EVERYDAY.
You wear tight clothes.
I tried to tell him in this country that is sending the wrong message.
Then he tells me guys hit on him to his face all the time.
Im like "WHAT?"
Are you kidding me?
He said a guy called him sweety and was trying to hit on him.
I told him...look....I know Im good looking and that shit has never happened to me....you are doing something wrong.
Granted this guy is only 5'7 tall.
Then he tells me "See these jeans my wife bought them for me they cost $200 dollars"
Im like dude...your bringing this on your self...

I keep telling this dude to dress baggier but he doesnt listen.

Then we get this new guy.

He thinks its ok to discriminate against gay people and not hire them.
He says all kinds of ignorant bullshit.
He is from the south.

So....Im surrounded by ignorance....EVERY FUCKING DAY I have to hear this bullshit.
Today the black jackass was talking about men in dresses....

People in the fucking MILITARY are less homophobic then these guys...

This ignorant black bastard had the nerve to tell me TODAY that the reason why all these freak priests are molesting kids is because the catholic church willingly let gays in.
They recruited them....

We had a guy come in for an interview about two weeks ago. I asked my manager if the interview worked out well, and her reply was "Not really. He's way too flamboyant".

Both the manager and the assistant manager are devout, church-going Christians so it's not horribly surprising; just a little disappointing.

Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Sorry, Brother, that you have to put up with shit like that, but unless you are willing to seal yourself off from the world, you're going to be constantly exposed to ignorance of all sorts. It's up to you how to deal with it and while quitting is always an option, it's very hard to do.

Self proclaimed christians are a real PITA, because it's obvious they've missed most of the points of the religion. Ditto the devout church attendees. I've known some real Christians in my life and they are very nice and humble people who seldom say anything bad about anybody.

Don't allow these folks to get you down or push you away from what you know is right. A week ago I was seriously contemplating dropping off this forum, but if I did that the ignorant bullies would win. This is one of the situations where the serenity prayer is helpful and I will paraphrase it for you:

Give me the courage to change what I can, the serenity to accept what I can't change, and the wisdom to know the difference

Personally, I've always had problems with the last part, hence many of my posts on this site.
