Strangely enough, you can develop or loose this type of allergy at different stages of your life. For example, my father developed an extreme allergy to shellfish in his early twenties. Later in life, in his mid-fifties, it went away like it had never existed. His favorite food, and for thirty years he couldn't ingest it without dying. Ouch!

Life is essentially one long Benny Hill skit punctuated by the occasional Anne Frank moment.
