    Default Dead sex drive....

So need a bit of help here.
I'm 34 and I would say my sex drive is in the dumps.
I'm in very good shape, I eat well but due to a recent long term break that left me a bit under the weather I've taken Diazepam to help.
I honestly have no clue what gives? Before I was always good to go but this stuff has really killed my sex drive. Unfortunately if you search for side effects you get everything under the sun.
Has any one had any other issues with this particular drug?
    Thanks
    Sx

Oh other than 12 hour work days and evenings working on my MBA.....no not really!
I guess it could just be stress.
Funny thing though, the reason my last long term relationship of 6 years went under was because I had a very active sex drive and she....well that of a dead cow. Which caused countless arguments and eventually a total split up.
So it could be my subconscious kicking in?

Valium's a neuroinhibitor. If there's an adverse side effect, stop taking it.

I hardly ever agree with hippifried but as my Tgirlfriend is a nurse, diazapam or valium as it is also known is a muscle relaxant/calmative so that could be cause for your sex drive issues.

Thoughts? You're normal and just broke up with a long term girlfriend?

If you want to medicalize it, your psychiatrist believes you are experiencing symptoms of bereavement and/or adjustment disorder (perhaps superimposed on anxiety or depression?). It may help normalize your experience and feelings if you read up on both conditions a bit. That said, I am unfamiliar with the literature and efficacy of antidepressant treatment but am not certain a medication helps either condition (though could obviously help if you had depression at baseline). Time and talk therapy are proven effective, though.

It seems to me a low sex drive would be beneficial at this point in time, no? (Unless you've all ready located a new partner.) Bupropion has fewer sexual side effects and your decreased drive is most likely due to depressed mood. Give it a month.
