Does It Turn A Gal Off To Meet A Fella That's Obsessed With Horror Movies???
I'm definitely in this category. I was watching Universal and Hammer Horror Films with my dad since I was a toddler.
My mom used to tell me a funny story. I was 4 years old and she asked me, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I quickly replied, "A monster!" She responded, "But wouldn't you rather be President or Chief Of Police?" I yelled, "No! Monster! Monster! Monster!" Then I flipped over a chair.
My dad loved Horror Movies but didn't take my mom to see them in the theater because she hated them. So he took me. At 6 years old I was sitting in the National Theater in Westwood Village absolutely terrified watching The Exorcist. I'm Catholic so, to me, it was like a documentary making it even more scary. I was scarred for life but reborn at the same time. Me and my dad started seeing Horror Movies in the theater all the time. It was the late 1970s which was a darker and more brutal period for this genre. Many times we would go to the infamous Culver Theater and see Horror double features. This went on for years until my dad died when I was 17. I miss him.
At 43, I am still heavily into watching Horror Movies. Not only do I just enjoy watching them, but they are a way of re-connecting with my dad. I've told people this and they just shake their head wondering what kind of father I had. He wasn't perfect but he meant well. His dad was a Cossack from Russia so, at the very least, he was more civilized than him.
When I meet ladies I try really hard to try and hide my love for Horror Films fearing it might creep them out if they found out just how important they are to my life. Sometimes I can keep quiet but sometimes I blab endlessly when the favorite movie topic comes up. Makes things worse when I give an explanation.
Do Horror guys creep you ladies out? Is there any out there that might be drawn to someone with such dark morbid fascinations?

Re: Does It Turn A Gal Off To Meet A Fella That's Obsessed With Horror Movies???
I had a girlfriend who said, "Oh, I totally love Horror Movies!" when we first started dating. I found out later she was talking about ones like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. On my birthday in 2001, she agreed to take me to see Cannibal Holocaust at The Nuart. She had no idea what she was walking into. It was an experiment in torture for her as she had never seen anything so over the top like that. She told me, "If it wasn't your birthday I would've walked out." She definitely got cool points for hanging in there and not tapping out.
I'd like to meet someone that's into sitting on the couch drinking Whiskey and watching Lucio Fulci movies with me but I'm not sure any woman like that exists.

Well I dont get turn off if he likes those kind of movies. I knew one guy he was very much into them, if there is someone in this world who has more horror movies than him in his house I will make a porn movie for free. I used to hang out in his house and he always had a new movie, old ones, new ones, you name it. Plus hi has a house that looks sooo creepy and he even owns a funeral hurst. I kind of like it, he was different and that was what I liked!

What does that exactly mean, Natasha?
People that come to my house look in disbelief at how much Horror I own. I don't have memorabilia but I have a staggering amount of DVDs. You name it and I got it, everything from early German Silent Horror Films to all the Hostels and Saws of today. I have tons of stuff from the US/Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia stacked from floor to ceiling.
