just a quick point from someone from the UK who's never been in prison over here or anywhere else. If groups self segregate and dont mix, what if you are say a 'wigger' or just a white guy who dates black women, who is married to one and has kids with her. When he is in prison who does he mix with? The blacks, who he is probably more closer to outside than the whites who are probably racist? What happens if you are a tiny minority, not black white or hispanic, say less than 5 of your race in prison? who do you mix with, espeically for protection?

Stay with your own, period. Whos outside isnt important in this context. if there are less than 5 of whatever you are, do what the other 4 are doing....
