You can go to reviews forum and start a thread. They have one for NY, Jersey, Boston why not S.F. Bay Area backpages.

....well, first of all, you're right, there are in fact fewer syllables....not so sure it sounds all that much cool however
....I mean, nobody says Coli for Colorado or Ari for Arizona,,,or Minni or Massi or Mishi or Newi
....we're not sposed to call it Frisco either, but that never really bothered me, esp now that Herb Caen is gone
....but Cali?....eehhhh...I could do without it as a matter of personal preference

Well of course not every state is going to have a short name. As ridiculous as some people may think Cali sounds, it doesn't sound as bad as Massi or Newi. They don't have a ring to it. I don't say Frisco and either, but it does have a ring to it as corny as it sounds. I'll use Cali more when I'm in another state after I've introduced myself as being from California. When I've been talking to the person for a little bit and I'm referring to California, I'll start saying Cali.
