They are all jokes. 500 million people on Facebook doing their best to do very little in this world. What is that? Eight per cent of the world's population? And you really can't count most of Africa and India because much of them don't have the means of even having a computer, so the stat escalates.

Would the world be more productive without these sites or more destructive? That is what's up for debate.

I wasn´t talking about the social networking thing but Facebook is (technically) obviously superior to Twitter that it doesn´t make sense to register on Twitter. I agree that Facebook is a waste of time, although it might be useful to find old lost friends but, on the other hand, we´re living in sad times when people need Facebook to find each other.
