Try having your office on the parade route (only positive is if you feel like watching it, having feet of windows on the second floor is a great place to do it from), and you home just off it (imagine having to show id to get onto your block, having the 7 block walk home take 1/2 because the streets are clogged with....., and best of all is what you find on your stoop that nite and next morning.

And this is one of the many reasons i don't live in the NYC area any more!
