Have to disagree - seen both and not impressed by most I've seen in US.
I'd suggest anyone going for elective surgery and having to pay for it should look into going abroad, this hospital is rated one of the best in the world (I've been there) http://www.bumrungrad.com/
It's not a question of getting what you pay for - it's that medical in the US is obscenely over-priced.

That's not great... (no offense). I wonder where she went. Probably wouldn't recommend her doctor.

i am not a fan of having plastic surgery outside of this country because you have very little recouse if something goes wrong- and MOST us plastic surgeons wont even touch you- unless you have to be admitted to the emergency room.

it is much easier to travel to another state or withing your own city than half way around the world if you have an issue or immediate problem.

i know that hopsital in thailand is state of the art- there was a big articke in the Ny Times Magazine about Americans going for medical vacations at that same place.

for myself- and all the horrid sex changes I have seen from abroad - as well as some us doctors- i would never, ever consider having such a delicate operation outside of the country.

let's say u develop a fistula- which is a complication of srs- and have to wear a colostomy bag. would you stay abroad the whole time before it is fixed- or have to travel back to whereever to have that corrected?

There may be some advantages to having a fecal matter intercept bag in place. I wonder if they charge extra for that?

I've seen a lot of threads that were neither informative or fun.
This one qualifies as one of the most interesting for various reasons.

And Seanchai now goes to the top of the my list for great one-liners!

I DO NOT KNOW WHO DID THAT SURGERY ,I posted it from a link I found from a user from this site.

There's still not a lot of interest and sharing of techniques and information on these procedures so many don't get much practice and therefore there is less artfulness in these procedures.

    THIS STUFF IS STILL TABOO!

One thing that isnt being said here thus far is what happens to a girls head(the one above her shoulders)after SRS....

In Thailand there are a large percentage of girls who opt for the "deluxe" treatment and sadly most of them go absolutely loony..for whatever reason.Im not sure if its a specific thing or a combination of several factors, but the girls are never quite the same emotionally...in a negative manner.
