Everything worked out for the best. Lugosi definitely nailed it. Chaney Sr was amazing in Silent Film due to his make-up skills and ability to act without dialogue due to both of his parents being deaf. I believe he only made one "talkie".

Frankenstein was the first one I remember watching all the way through. I remember feeling empathy and sadness for the monster, not horror or fright. He was like a lost child in a crazy world.

I also used to read and collect Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine back then (late 60s and early 70s), which would be collector's items of some value if I still had them. My mother probably threw them out.
