That's a tough call ... they all have their appeal and were well written and had great casts.
But i'm voting for the OG (original goth) Dracula.

Got to be Dracula, closely followed by Frankenstein.
Never really cared much for the mummy and thought the wolfman was a bit camp.

I voted for Dracula too although The Mummy is my second favorite with Frankenstein being third and The Wolf Man forth.
Karloff was the best Horror Film actor of this era. He was especially creepy in The Body Snatcher from the Val Lewton set.

Hmmm...to me Frankenstein was the scariest...I liked Dracula too but, to me Bela Lugosi wasn't that scary (the Renfield character was scarier once he went mad).

That's the charm of Dracula , that false sense of security he exudes.
Dracula appears harmless but is dangerous while Frankenstein's creation may look hideous and dangerous is really childlike and society made him a monster.

They all showed up & got their boogie on at the Monster Club.

You guys know the story of how Lugosi got the part as Dracula? Originally Lon Chaney Sr, who worked many times with Tod Browning, was to play the part but he became ill and shortly died afterward. Lugosi was doing a live theatrical performance as Dracula. The studio was impressed and gave him the part.
Imagine if things were different and Lon Chaney Sr didn't become ill. He would have made a scary Dracula. Here's a picture of him from London After Midnight as a Vampire-like character. Creeeeepy!
