Daniel Radcliffe Hangs Out With Transgender Artist Our Lady J

Daniel Radcliffe talks Broadway and gay rights with transgender musician Our Lady J.

In a cover story for gay glossy Out, Our Lady J, who has a new single out called Hurt, interviews the Harry Potter star. Their friendship made tabloid headlines in the UK last year.

The twenty-one-year-old Radcliffe tells Our Lady J that he's back on the market after a three-year relationship.

“At the moment, I'm just being single and running around chasing girls,” he said.

Radcliffe has been busy filming the final installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 due out in November, and working on Broadway. He'll star in the Broadway revival of the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying when it opens in March.

“I love Broadway,” he said. “It's very, very hard to actually describe why New York is so brilliant.”

The young actor has made it clear he supports gay rights. Last year, he filmed a public service announcement for the Trevor Project, an LGBT teen suicide prevention group.

But Radcliffe said acceptance is a “really slow process.”

“If you take any family with parents who are bringing their kids up in a narrow-minded way that includes homophobia, it will take a very profound moment of realization to change those deep-seated views.”
