And I always dug Laura Kightlinger.

I think that has to be a function of culture. The article contrasts her with Ricky Gervais- an effete fop (in the eyes of most Americans) who we can't get rid of fast enough. Sarah is funny but also evokes a fantasy archetype. She's the cheerleader who'd let you fuck her in the a$$ but never forgive you if you didn't write her a thank you note.

I have a lukewarm relationship with British comedy. I dig "Are You Being Served?"- witty, decently paced- but never got into "Fawlty Towers".

And (blasphemy alert) I think the Python troupe was overrated. Absurd- but absurd isn't the same as funny.
