I think age is a factor. When I was a young lad, I had erections that pointed straight up. Nowadays, it points out at a 30 degree angle (give or take--I haven't actually gotten out the protractor). Since most porn stars are youngish, you'll see a lot of dicks pointing straight up at the ceiling.
