My opinion on BA (having visited) is that the people are very respectful but they are shy so it's difficult to meet people.

I am researching a place to stop on the way to Brazil. Colombia seems to make the most sense but there is a lot of mixed reviews. I can speak a little spanish but the more english speakers the better. I was thinking about Bogota and Cartagena. I am also open to more cities in South America. There is Guyana and Suriname which are mostly english speaking. I just have not heard anything on those countries. Also open to Central America.

Old thread i know but i hope my input will help others for future reference. I have been to these places and have seen both their advantage and disadvantages..
Philippine is great, but you should stick to the main travelling routes, Manila,Makati as there's always a case or two about foreigners being kidnapped in other provinces. Bangkok is a great destination as well but everything out there is over commercialized, The escort service out there is really expensive and there's always a hidden fee in the equation. To take a girl home from the club you have to pay a bar fine around 600 Baht, and to get her in bed is another 2500 baht. But other from that, The cost of life at these two places are relatively cheap, Easy to make a life for yourself, You can just build an apartment with 2 million pesos in the phils and rent it, you will enjoy an early retirement. But if push comes to shove and i have to choose a place i would always choose Brazil over the Phils and Thailand even though the cost of life is more expensive, Brazil transgender population is higher than in Phils and thailand but its easier to meet Transgender peoples in Bangkok. The only downside about these two asian countries is the quality of their transitions. The asian girls have the most feminine face but their body still remains masculine. Naturally they are born with a feminine face and most of them don't find the need of hrt to become passable so they skip on hrt which results in many of them stuck with a slim manly body. Where as the girls in Brazil their aim is to get the ultimate feminine body from Hormones therapy to autologous fat transfer surgeries the results is always astounding..

I have only been to Thailand. I want to go to Brazil but haven't had the time. The nice thing about Thailand is you can usually just walk out the front door of your hotel and there is nightlife. I don't get that impression from what I've read about Brazil.

In my hometown the presence of Trans ladies are every where but we lack the Structures that Phuket and Bangkok has, you have to rely solely on internet to meet Ts providers.
