I always debate Thailand or the Philippines. I usually end up going to Thailand because it seems more developed and easier to get around. I want to try something different though. I will probably go to Brazil and maybe Thailand again after. I also looked at flights to the Philippines. They are shorter than Bangkok by a few hours, however you have to fly Philippine Airlines which has a lot of sub par reviews. I'm trying to find more cities as Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket are becoming overcrowded with tourists.

Bangkok is pricier than Pattya in Thailand and Brasil- well it varies with the currency. Having had a friend go there 20+ times he (maybe incorrectly) told me the areas where the trevsti were were not all that safe. The Philippines is so inexpensive all around- like a NICE room for $20-$25/night.
