    Not really a bassist but a multi-instrumentalist, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. That bassline in Ramble On is one of my favourite things ever.



    Paul Simonon of The Clash, the bassline in London Calling was one of the things that caused me to buy a bass guitar in high school.



    Matt Freeman of Rancid, the other reason I bought a bass in high school, specifically the 58 second mark of this song, .
