I must admit I had to google Shawn Lane. I had no clue who he was.

Shawn Lane is most likely your guitar heroes, hero.

He's the pinnacle of knowledge and expression of the instrument.

Check out "Grey Pianos flying" and "Epilogue For Lisa" a nod to his late sister.

Then punch in Shawn Lane "sick lick." He moves at the speed of light with the definition of an aural aubade mere mortals aren't accustomed to acknowledging.

These tunes are from his "Powers Of Ten" album. It´s not actually the "usuan" Shawn on that album but he was very much a melodic player. There was no competition for him. The guitar was his third hand. He was probably the fastest known guitarist (18 notes per second) but lived for the music, not just shredding. Shawn was also a great keyboard player.
