Nothing wrong about caring about peoples future, but the assumption that sex work will necessarily be any worse than a more normal life is what I disagree with. I think a girls chance of ending up with a piece of shit boyfriend, domestic violence, alienation and depression are just as likely. We as TS women all have to walk a complicated and difficult road and being a sex worker doesn't automatically make that any harder.

Yes we are at increased risk that is why we make so much money. Perhaps I'm fatalistic because my father was killed in a car accident at the age of 31 on his way to work. I could go to college, become a professional and still die of cancer at the age of 35. There are no guarantees in life and it is not really yours or any other guys place to play daddy unless you are gonna step up and take the place of sex work.

I love my job would never trade it to be a wage slave. Sorry. If I wanted to play it safe I would never have become the unicorn I am, don't try and turn me into a horse.

I'd vote not. Everyone who is involved in the sex industry is well aware that many people think we are ruining our lives and harming others. We don't need to be reminded of that in the places we go to interact with our fans and clientele.

The same things every guy is saying about sex work were said to me about my transition and I'm sure to many other girls as well.

Ultimately what it shows is that you guys have little respect for consensual sex workers and adult performers. Even though you consume our services and films you still feel it is somehow appropriate to speak negatively of our decisions and work. It sucks.

For some women sex work is a wonderfully fulfilling avenue, and for others not so great. But that is true of any path one may choose in life.

It is so ingrained in men that they have a right to express an opinion about anything and anyone regardless of how valid it is, especially when it comes to women and their bodies. I understand that sexism is culturally ingrained in men and largely unexamined, but it really reeks when it is displayed in such a paternalistic and blatant manner. You guys are not wiser than us, no matter how much you think you are.

Trust me, nobody is more aware of the toll and risk of sex work more than those of us who are actually doing it. Rather than trying to convince us to become baristas and students maybe you guys should support our efforts to build a safer and more socially acceptable environment in which to work. The stigmatization of sex workers needs to be fought not reinforced.
