Oddly, the best comparison to that I can make to porn is American football. Everybody watches it, its makes billions of dollars and many people rich, but everyone pays a price for playing.

If you guys really care about sex workers than you should step up and speak out against the punitive sex negative culture that shames prostitutes and porn stars and forces us into unsafe working conditions. Become an activist to transform our culture and support the beautiful women who choose to share their bodies and lives with you.

When the voters of Minnesota knocked Will Shetterly out of the ring, in favor of Jesse "The Body" Ventura, legalized prostitution (Among other things) went by the wayside.
For every person that claims to support sex workers' rights and welfare there are ten more that will talk the talk and then walk right outta here before anyone they know recognizes them.
I empathize with the OP. I've had the heartthrobs for women (And men) in the industry more times than I can count. You never know when you might be the lucky one that scores relationship status with one of them. I lucked out once, many years ago, and it's a hard road to follow.
There are a lot of trust issues, severe concern as to their welfare, and the numerous nighttime calls, long drives in the cold and rain, coffee klatches in anonymous diners, panicky visits to the ER that make up your tenuous definition of a 'relationship'. Only your heart can measure the value and worth of these efforts and sacrifices.
I've read a number of gushy fanboy threads here and on other forums that profess true love and devotion to [Insert name of favorite star of the week here] and won't even begin to tally their quantity. I have no doubt as to the sincerity of the posts, but I can't put much faith in their longevity. A day, a week, a month later the OP sees a new rising star with bigger breasts, thicker cock, brighter eyes and the object of his original blue-steel hardon fades from memory.
Been there, whacked to that. The little brain has a very short memory when matters of the heart are concerned.
I honestly wish the best to any of the guys here and elsewhere that connect with these ladies (And I know of a small few that have), but please remember to wear your bullet-proof Y-fronts, because it's going to be a bumpy ride.
