Stones. Hands down. In fact I think their music stands the test of time better than that of the Beatles.

Both have produced a good amount of music that I've enjoyed but to me its no contest. The Rolling Stones have been doing it since 1962. From Wikipedia Nirvana made only 3 albums. Then Cobain died and people made him into a martyr. They were good but I think they were overrated. Probably because he died when they were at there peak and people usually only remember the last thing they see and hear. I got to say that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is one of my favorite songs though. And I have also enjoyed the stuff that Dave Grohl has done since then. Everlong is another one of my favorite songs.
I have the personality and people skills of a retarded home-schooled kid.

If I had to base it on songs alone, I would choose Nirvana. Gimme Shelter is the only Stones song I like whereas I like about a half dozen of Nirvana's. Song-writing would be Kurt Cobain hands down.
But, I don't really like either band. I'm sure that's obvious.
