Re: Lady Gaga thread
no doubt the songs are similar. but I doubt the tens of millions of little monsters could give a fuck that their goddess Gaga wrote a song that sounds a little like an old hit from way before they were born.
The Gaga bashing from the people claiming to be music critics is getting more hysterical and pathetic with every hit release. Some folks just hate success

Re: Lady Gaga thread
Lady Gaga is, unquestionably, heavily influenced by Madonna. She has talked about this. I mean, we're all, well, molded by the people we appreciate.
Look at the impact James Dean had. Marlon Brando. Marilyn Monroe. Steven Spielberg has been very influential. (Or look at the masters of horror flicks: George Romero, Tobe Hooper and John Carpenter. They've had a huge influence on young horror directors.)
Joy Division and New Order influenced a lot of musicians. So, now, Madonna has reached that pop pinnacle where she's affecting younger musicians. Like Lady Gaga -- and Britney Spears.

You know you've made it in an industry when someone else comes along and people start referring to them as "the next you". Hopefully, decades from now, a thin blonde singer with a wild fashion sense will come along and she'll be called "the next Lady Gaga".

Has the ability to shock worn off??? I mean, LGG can't do, say, a SEX Book like Madonna. So as to, well, stir the consternation of the general public, as it were --
Haven't those days faded???? Albeit LGG's "meat" dress challenged the moral senses of the generic public --
I guess ya gotta keep pushin' the envelope in a culture saturated with so much stuff....

Re: Lady Gaga thread
She has managed to clean up her pubes over the years -- ha! ha! First pic is circa 1980. Second: 1992.
And, too, circa 1990 she had fluffy eyebrows. But she has dealt with those perceived problems. Like having body hair is a problem -- ha! ha! ha!
I guess we're a perfectionist culture -- We seem to demand absolute excellence from our celebs as a, well, must... or so it seems.
