If I hadn't seen an erect penis in a porno, I probably wouldn't be here right now.

pornographers have really been putting an emphasis on cock so porn conditioning guys into liking cock is not surprising to me at all
just watch some of the "straight" blow job stuff, its like the point is to make sucking cock look as appetizing as possible
and then the money shot...seems like for supposedly straight guys they are obsessed with seeing a man shoot cum
for me yeah i think straight porn turned me bi, specifcaly european porn, because i know wasnt born geneticaly predisposd to like trannies thats just ridiculous, so far i am still completely turned off by a mans body but sucking his cock is still up for debate

Bare in mind the example he was using was prepubescent boys using playboy (softcore).
Whether or not bukkake can cause homosexuality aside, he was talking about soft core porn that doesn't show penises, to say nothing of concentrating on them.
It would be like saying "early pubescent girls go lesbian if they look at magazines male underwear models"
If you'll buy that one, I have some nice, CHEAP, tropical oceanfront property for sale in Nebraska you might want to consider buying....
And maybe its easier to withdraw from life
With all of its misery and wretched lies
If we're dead when tomorrow's gone
The Big Machine will just move on
Still we cling afraid we'll fall
Clinging like the memory which haunts us all

Yeah, I caught this story when it first came out. The more I watch of the Right Wing in America, the more I see of a panicked group of people trying to hold their shit together. They're running around drawing lines in the sand everywhere: socialism, evolution, science, integration, abstinence, etc.
It makes one dizzy trying to keep up with these people's arguments.
But the biggie as far as I can see is homosexuality. They're constantly trying to reset the clock. This guy seems to point to the 50's or 60's, when Playboy emerged, as the root of all evil. If only that darn Marilyn Monroe hadn't posed for that flagship issue we'd be a whole lot less gay. They are super-panicked about a society that is 100% accepting of homosexuality.
Here in Washington State they are putting Referendum 71 on the ballot which will make us something like the 7th or 9th state to allow gay marriage, if it passes. I watched a local news channel present opposing sides of the argument with 2 people as guest panelists.
The pro-71 woman was very calm and presented the advantages that same sex partners would enjoy if married. She wasn't getting sidetracked by emotion, nor her counterpart, nor the moderator with his leading questions. Just the facts, as she saw them.
The anti-71 guy looked normal, was professional, probably in his 30's, and tried to be calm throughout, but you could see him lose the battle. Not to the woman or the moderator, but to the issue itself. The issue was obviously eating him alive. His culminating argument was the slippery slope one that gay marriage would lead to other people coming forth to proclaim marriage for their relationships, and the one example he used most strenuously was polygamists. He made that case that there are polygamists "out there" who would jump at forcing society to honor their tri-parte or quad-parte relationships as legally bound marriage.
I guess the guy hasn't seen "Big Love" on HBO. Marriage of polygamists has been blessed by the state in various forms for centuries now, and usually has been forced upon the state by Right Wing religionists.
Luckily, there are some on the right who are beginning to see anti-gay policies as a loser issue for conservatives and the Republican Party. My hope is that these are the people from the political Right who will lead them back to sanity. I'm an unabashed liberal but I'm also a firm believer that any political system needs a healthy opposition, and the Right is just sicker than a dog right now.

I think Freud would have had found this Senator's argument pretty interesting. In one of Freud's essays on his theory of sexuality, he spoke of inversion as a prerequisite for homosexuality. When one begins being attracted to or fixated on his or her own body, it would follow that a shift would occur in the individual's sexual orientation due to a male being interested in his own male body and sexual organs and a female in her own female body. This attraction eventually turns outward to others, and hence, inversion leads to attraction of others of the same sex.
As to how porn plays into all of this, I think masturbating with infrequency is completely fine and wouldn't be a factor in turning one's sexuality inward. I do, however, think that a porn addiction, such that a male is masturbating numerous times a day and relies on porn as a very regular means of getting off, would be the type of activity that theoretically could drive one to inversion and, consequently, homosexuality. When a guy is deriving his sole pleasure from masturbating and giving his own penis pleasure, I think that could potentially draw people into being fixated on their penis, and then penis in general (could this explain how 90% of the posters here only care about a girl's dick? could it explain why most men consider themselves "straight" but have such a big interest in cock? Looking at transexuals allows men to live out their cock fixations without the total guilt and weight of homosexuality, since the cock is attached to a good looking "woman.")
That all being said, I think this Senator didn't mean it in this way and is an old fashioned, set in his ways fool. It takes looking through Freud's lenses to see how this could possibly make some sense.... but I'm not really sold on it. Just trying to argue a possibility.
