interesting never been one for the militias, 99.9% of them out there our organized around a megalomaniac just trying to make a quick buck or cause some trouble.

however the Ruby Ridge and Waco incidents could and should have been handled differently. The way they handled it just fueled the fire for more groups to spring up.

in law enforcement circles around here it has always been said you want a mountain out of a mole hill bring in the FBI or BATF. Local enforcement officers can do more with a simple traffic stop than the FBI can do with a major operation like Waco or Ruby Ridge.

Corey MacDonald. Young was carrying a pocket knife, police said. A subsequent search of his vehicle, parked on school property, revealed a loaded hand gun, police said.


I really have a tough time seeing the big story here. A fucking pocket knife? Come on, who doesn't have a pocket knife? The gun was sitting in the back of HIS CAR, it's not like he was walking around the school with a gun trying to find someone to shoot. How many dozens of other people do you all think were at that school with a pocket knife at the same time?

People accidentally take sidearms onto campuses all the time by forgetting they're still in their car from the last time they were at a gun dealer or a shooting range. Even when they get caught doing something utterly stupid like that, it virtually never even makes the news unless there is reason to believe they were trying to do something like a shooting. People mistakenly leave their kids in their cars, you think everyone is always going to remember where their gun is (especially if they have a lot of them)? There are morons of every demographic there is, including gun owners [I think it would be idiotic to leave an unregistered sidearm in your car, let alone when its parked on a school where firearms are illegal].

Do they have any reason to believe he was "plotting" anything or was this simply a lost guy with a "evil pocket knife" wandering around the school?
