People just don't need to pay for porn, and the porn industry ultimately can't compete with horny swingers who want to impress each other. (just saying) I think the industry is never going to regain the profit margins from the early days of the internet, and pre-internet.

Amateur porn involving swingers seems to be a big trend nowadays which is a little distressing to me. I want to see attractive people doing what they do best. Not Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith from down the street fucking on camera.

I think amateur porn is much more hot and real IMO. Actually according to a recent MSNBC documentary on the industry (like two weeks ago), sites like xnxx.com and spankwire have had a serious impact on DVD sales.

The traditional market for porn (young males) is gravitating towards low cost or free porn.

The largest growth market for the industry is actually women and has been for the last 5-10 years actually. This is given rise to plot driven, high budget movies seen in recent years.

Asking on a TG site like this is kinda funny, this is a very niche part of the industry and while hetro porn is more widely accepted than ever before, Bi-sexual/LGBT is NOT, still.

As for A list girls making themselves available as escorts is very common, though most don't do it, quite a few of them do, just have a look at Eros.

Because of the reduction in revenue, production companies have to cut someplace and like Hollywood, they are looking to produce product where its cheap, ie outside the United States.

I see people complain about how many Brazilians are in TS porn and the lack of North American, Afro-American or European decent English speaking content. I say start buying DVD's with English speaking talent or don't complain.

I don't complain because I don't buy, I have exactly 3 actual DVD's purchase several years ago. Between Hot Movies, Torrents and Free Sites, I just don't bother with direct purchases anymore. I'm more than likely going to rip the three I have to the HD and then trash them I doubt they are worth anything now.

I'd also say strength of content is what is hurting the industry as well.

I agree with the above statement, about how sales may indicate a need to raise the quality of the content. People give the most accurate feedback of all with their wallets. But if money's scarce, competition should be healthier than ever.
