Avatar Size

A question to the community: How do users like Rockabilly have such a huge avatar when there appears to be a file size and pixel limitation? Is there a way to circumvent the restrictions? I ask because I want to use a slightly bigger avatar than the size I'm using currently. Thanks to all of you who reply.

It is a good size I dont know ... i linked to an off site avatar , so maybe that's why. I tried all my pics but they wouldn't work , then i tried photobucket and other sites and still no go ... so i just googled and found my current pic. Maybe that helps. :

Wasn't really thinking about you, willy, more that twat who had a two+ megabyte 'bigfoot' sig...Why should *I* have to download that shit everytime i clear my cache? If i'm that interested, i'll follow a text link!

where can one go to shrink a photo so that it it the proper size for an avatar. I really like this new pic and would like to make it my new avatar!
