Sadly I've never seen Tom and I'm starting to doubt I'll ever get the opportunity to do so. I'm pretty sure he did stop smoking cigarettes and went straight to eating them.

Something missing in your genealogy of rock, as Clapton left the Yardbirds for John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, an academy for guitarists like no other in the 1960s. First time I saw Clapton was with Cream at a festival gig which saw Fleetwood Mac's debut -Peter Green also having just left Mayall to form the band, with Mick Taylor replacing him in Mayall's team. Taylor lasted a year or so before joining the Rolling Stones. Also playing that night (offstage in a tent) were Chicken Shack but not with Christine Perfect who joined them later before marrying John McVie (also ex-Mayall) and joining Fleetwood Mac in I think 1970.

Bella Donna (album) by Stevie Nicks.
I am very sad today because I love Steely Dan and earlier today I was listening to Can't Buy a Thrill and as soon the album ended I got my phone and saw the news.
