This I can totally relate to having lived in Los Angeles for 23 of my 44 years of existence.Once you live in LA you find yourself getting accustomed to that lifestyle and it is truly hard to get over. With me my so called luck ran out in 2004 I had to pack up all my personal belongings and then arrange to have a moving company move everything cross country.I know this isn't what you want here right now,but everything does happen for a reason.I know at this moment there really is no right answer. All I can suggest is try and keep a positive attitude.Try to think about all the good things that hometown you came from has to offer you. Also remember you're not leaving LA a failure you did quite well for yourself, you got to pursue your dream which more than a lot people can say.Los Angeles is tough in general no matter what you do because there is so much competion. So many people go there to pursue their dreams.

Default I met some guys in the gym who

    took off doing porn

was doing really well then crash and burn

they were on top and in demand and like a few years later

business is down demand has gotten to an all time low

LA,CALIF use to have a very high demand for ts porn and magazines then

    everything changed here in Hollywood

I also usually mention that it would be near to impossible to make a good living doing TS only porn (as a male performer) - companies like Grooby only needs about 12 US hardcores a month, the other production companies mentioned probably around the same or less ... so figure if your in LA maybe 40 hardcore scenes a month or less (given hardcores aren't only shot in LA) and they don't want to all use the same guy.
As you said, at least you give it a shot and kept your integrity to what you wanted to do.

Ray, I've read some of your posts and you're a very smart guy with an All American type attitude like "Apple Pies and Chevrolets"

I just don't see how how a guy in the porn industry can make a fortune making $800-$1200 per shoot in an adult theatre.

I think this industry is more focused on the rising shemale stars and not men.

You're a talented guy and I wish you the best!

Don't go, Ray. Ever think about getting a job as an tv/film extra? It doesn't may much, but its good untill you can get a real job and do porn on the side.

OK, just an update, Thank you to everyone for your help and encouragement. I actually got a call to do a shoot this past Saturday, so that will pay for a fresh AIM test, and gas and groceries for another week. Now if I can get some more shoots this week, I'll be stoked. Should be able to, my scene Saturday went pretty well, the director and the female talent seemed really pleased. so, there is still some hope for me....
