This is a good topic and one I feel I should jump into.

I see that Bob's Tgirls is not too popular among this group - at least not yet. So I'd like have some dialog with you guys and girls. First a little history for those of who are not familiar with me.

This all started back in 1998, I was a typical guy surfing the net looking for porn except I was looking for transsexual porn. There wasn't a whole lot of it around then. I'd go to newsgroups to see what I could find. After repeatedly finding photos with the Shemale Yum logo on them, I joined.

long story short - within a couple of months I was shooting for Yum. The Yum members loved the girls I was bringing to the internet for the first time like Barbie Woods, Vo D'Balm and Shawna as well as established pornstars like Meghan Chavalier, Kim Devine, Shana and the Transsexual Twins.

Many of those members encouraged me to start my own site. I did that with Seanchai's help. So Bob's Tgirls was born in June, 1999.

At the time, my two favorite sites were Yum and Brazilian Transsexuals. It didn't make any sense to try to make a clone of Yum and I didn't want to do an ethnic specific site either. I wanted to go in a different direction.

So whereas Yum is a wide open anything goes site, Bob's Tgirls was designed to be the "Playboy of Shemale Sites" Those are Seanchai's words. I've always been very selective as far as what I considered to be "model material". So instead of having large numbers of models I went for just the cream of the crop and went for a more polished look. As such Bob's Tgirls and Shemale Yum have had many members in common over the years.

I saw some comments in this and other threads about photoshopping (pros and cons.) I do retouch my images. It is the most tedious and time consuming part of this business. I feel I owe it to my models to present them at their best and I owe it to my members to not have to look at pimples, bruises, & etc. So my photoshop is about taking care of that stuff and adjusting light levels if needed.

Someone mentioned in this thread that Shemale Club is an example of too much photoshop. I agree. I don't know exactly what they do, but it appears that the photos are batch run through a filter to soften up the images and whatever else it does. The photos are pretty yet look fake. It's actually not a bad look, but not what I go for. My goal is to keep the photos looking natural - just cleaned up. That's what any professional magazine does.

As I see it, there are two big problems with Bob's Tgirls as it is now. First is video. I'm one of those people that likes high quality big pictures and video. I also like to save my favorite photos and videos on my hard drive. So when HD video clips became a possibility, I jumped on that and started offering DivX HD video. As I second format, I have mp4 files, which are also downloadable. I chose that option for 2 reasons, first it allows people to save and view clips on their portable devices. I love iPorn on my iPhone. But I've come to realize my thinking was incomplete.

Both of those formats are good choices. But some people are not concerned with those things and they don't want to wait while high quality files download and then have to play them in a separate player. They want to just push a button an let it play in a console on their browser.

The next problem is that by today's standards, navigating Bob's Tgirls is archaic. People want to be able to find what they want quickly. And they want things more visual and intuitive.

So now Bob's Tgirls is in the middle of a complete redesign - similar to what Shemale Yum and other grooby sites are doing. The redesign corrects both of those deficiencies. A streaming video option will be added. For those who prefer to download video and keep it, you'll still have that option.

The site will also have advanced search functionality. So whether you're looking for a certain type of girl or have a specific fetish, you'll be able to easily find what you're looking for. There will be other new features as well. I hoped to have Bob's Tgirls 2.0 online by the end of June, but these things never go on schedule. I am hoping for sometime in July.

I like your site , great content but 2 major problems :

1. your video formats : DivX HD video and mp4 files work bad on older computers ( like mine ) , as long as my old computer works , I will not join your site if I cannot watch the clips ..........

2. too much solo content , too little hardcore

I think a new design will really help, but I think the personal touch you put into all the sets and movies is very appealing, and your sense of humor is unique and much appreciated.

I like your site , great content but 2 major problems :

1. your video formats : DivX HD video and mp4 files work bad on older computers ( like mine ) , as long as my old computer works , I will not join your site if I cannot watch the clips ..........

2. too much solo content , too little hardcore

The video format thing will be taken care of.

Your other point is interesting and one that I think about. I typically prefer shooting solo models.

To be honest, I've gotten to the point where I feel shooting the typical girl / guy scene is boring and overdone. Like someone mentioned in another thread he was tired of seeing the same guys over and over. I agree. I'd like to shoot more tgirl on tgirl and tgirl on genetic girl. Unfortunately not that many of the TSs really want to do scenes with girls. But in light of that, I just shot a great scene with Natassia Dreams and Isis Love. I loved shooting that one I gotta get to editing that.

With no disrespect meant to Shemale Club and their sites, yes it does appear that they just put it through some filters ... with the amount of content they produce, they'd have to. Bob's content however, is hand retouched (what we do on Grooby but we're a little less detail orientated) but never looks like it's over retouched.

Through only Bob's fault, his site has became a little marginalized in the last few years and not enough people actually join it ... because when they do join, they often stay there and come back. This is because Bob is more focused on the girls and the content, than on some things that would improve sales, that slicker companies, with worse content often do. Mainly, he doesn't court affiliates too much and prefers to try and get his members direct, because a larger part of his budget goes back into the site (this is similar also to how the Grooby websites work although we push harder with affiliates).
His site, in my opinion, is desperately in need of a redesign which I know is happening, a whole new crop of banners and getting the content standardized as he mentioned ... so hopefully, then, people can take a relook and see what a great site it is.

You're right. I kinda fell into a vacuum for a while - just shooting but not paying enough attention to new technology. I keep up on camera tech, but was late on getting into what database tech can do for a website. But I'm out of the vacuum now. I still have a lot to learn about marketing though. Wish me luck everyone. When the new version of Bob's Tgirls is ready to roll out. I well let you all know and for a very limited time you will be able to join at a major discount.

Since we are on the topic of bobs site, I wanted to say that as someone who has access to the site and as a tgirl fan myself, I would deffinatly recommend bobs t girls as a site to possibly join.

My favorite thing about the site is the simplicity of it and how easy it is to just browse. Not to mention the selectiveness of the girls. I hope its still as simple to browse when its re-done : )

Also, as a fan, I love how photos are touched just right. Not too overdone, but tastefully touched up.

As a model on the site, I really appreciate the work that he personally puts into the shoots. Not to mention he's just a really sweet awesome guy.

I hope that doesn't come off as kissing ass, I know how it may sound like it, but its my honest opinion.

Bottom line is, the site is worth looking into if u are in the market of a membership to a tgirl site.

Yum is the only site I join on a regular basis. Others I sample occasionally. The sheer content in updates on Yum means you will find something new on a regular basis. The other grooby sites are good, but I don't like Frank's site or his style. He is more interested in assholes than cocks and this is just not for me.

Bob runs a good site with attractive models and is very customer friendly.

Shemale-club is my least favorite site and I would not join again because of the download limits and the poor customer service.

Anything Joey Silvera touches is golden, but his site is not updated anymore. The Rogue Adventures site has a lot of his content though.

judging from the girls' genuine comments it seems that they like to work with you , great to see these kind of comments from a male customer POV.

if you feel that the typical girl/boy scene is boring and overdone , the solution is using imagination, this is what poeple do when they want to spice-up their sex
