Yup, it's probably just a little local bruising--quite common from injecting...I would keep an eye on it and if it proceeds as a bruise normally would, from the purplish to yellow- brown and then begin to fade over a week or so, then it's likey just that.

However if it remains a deep purple and especially if it becomes painful, swollen, tight or inflamed, or you notice any oedema (swelling) round your ankle or at the back of your knee, get it checked ASAP.
