Hello all. I recently had problems with my computer. Since then I cannot access fictionmania.com. I suspect the problem is from my computer but was wondering if someone could check to see if the site is still active???

I've heard that the founder of FictionMania and donor of the server (an older Mac running Mac OS IX) has crashed beyond repair. How the existing software that ran there can be transferred to another server is a matter of discussion between Task Force members. None of them are anywhere near the server and some are on different continents. Everything is backed up and the story archive sits in a different server on a different continent. So FictionMania will come back, but it will take some more time. How much, nobody knows.

Me too. I just don't understand why so many of these writers don't sell their work and give it away for free. Some have copyrights but so many don't.
