I find this a very interesting topic, having lived it through the male side of escorting. As a male escort, I don't claim to have any knowledge of what a TG escort goes through, the paying for hormone treatments and surgeries, that is a tough nut to make.
I would say that I understand the rest, part of what you lose in your life, keeping it from freinds and family, etc.
I agree with Vanessa and Danille that it truely is a means to an end. If you go into it with a plan, it can work out for everybody. If you are in for the fast money and monetary things, that's where the trouble lies.
I started to support myself while opening a business, then once that was stabilized, to buy property, then for investment purposes, now just for extra spending money. LIke Vanessa, I now escort just for spending money, and to some extent, the positive feedback that people still want you and are willing to pay for you.
One poster said that when you get less money or less calls, that it is nearing the end, and I agree. I do feel, if you post your true age and pics, let the consumer decide if that is what they want. Most clients like different things and some want mature people. But, if you are desperate for the money and have to lie to clients, that is where the trouble can be.
I do disagree with the one poster about the 401K thing. While your employer is not is not funding it, you can do it yourself. I have a simple IRA that I fund through my business. Escorts can do the same if they claim their money as entertainers, set up an S corp, etc. There are many ways to skin a cat, as they say, so if you truely want to, you can make it happen.
I have left out the downside, like law enforcement and psycho clients. Def a problem. But I have seen other business people arrested for fraud and theft, and attacked by psycho business partners, so there is risk everywhere.
Just posting my experience. Escorting did me well, and I only do it now on my own terms. I hope all the girls (and guys that do it) get the same result. Best of luck to all!
