I have been seeing articles about her for last few days, totally awesome!!!
They say she was never been married or kissed, I heard one of the judges on the show (Pierce I think his name is) will take her out and said on the radio he will give her her first kiss

Have to agree, first real life feel good movie moment I've seen in a long time. I teared up... always do for raw triumph moments... especially as you see her start to just walk away. You can tell she's not expecting to compliments.
Just one more nice guy finishing last...

The video on YouTube shows it all. When she first belts out those initial notes, the camera turns on Piers (Said to be a Simon toady) and you can see him choke up with emotion right then.
My ex is very similar to this woman. Very unassuming, plain-Jane sort, but when she starts to sing...Oy!
Another one of my lovers had a voice that I can only describe as Fran Dresher/Nanny-esque, but when she got in step with music, the voice of an angel. She has a few CDs out now.

Funny why we always expect good singers (male and female) to be attractive. Maybe that comes from manufacturing singers (eg Spice Girls - remember them?) based on looks rather than letting real talent blossom. Hope that Susan Boyle is successful and encoures others.

Check out Piers at 2:26.... It looks like he's swallowing an egg.
I like how Justawannabe described it...
Raw Triumph.
I find it particularly poignant here on this forum where we all are often SO focused on physical appearance down to the millimeter.

Absolutely beautiful rendition.
...plus to give some credit to the song "I Dreamed a Dream"....Loved " Les Miserables"....here's another rendition of "Fantine" from the musical. If you get a chance click on some of the other renditions on the side...it's just a really beautiful song.
