New York vs. Los Angeles !

It might have something to do with geographical density. LA is really really really spread out. In New York, if you want to change clubs, you walk down the street or hail a cab to go a couple of blocks. In LA, it's an hour or more between venues, no matter where you're going.

Philosophically, you have to ask whether it's better to have more places to ogle & mingle, or just have all the oglers & minglers in one place. You just have to work with what you have. Play the cards you're dealt. Get that zen in the yin/yang. Aaauuuummmmm!

I think LA has a pretty crappy nightlife overall- not just TS venues- for being such a HUGE city.

It is AMAZING how there are not busier parties in LA on the weekends for TS and admireres.

It's an unfortunate situation here. The venerable Club 7969 which was the main TS hot spot for decades was sold last year and closed.

The Queen Mary which was also a transgender hot spot for decades was closed a few years ago.

It's great that Leslie got Cobra going.

That said, back to the topic at hand. Even Divas is waning. I visit every time I'm in the Bay Area and the crowds there (both girls and guys) have declined over the past couple of years. [This has been a frequent topic of discussion on a local message board]. And its not the fault of the owner; the drinks are reasonable, the dancers on Wed and Thurs are great, the girls are generally very friendly. It is probably a number of things, the economy, the internet, rents in San Francisco, etc.

I have not yet made it to Cobra in LA, but I have heard it is fun and well attended.
