But, in case you're worried, and it would be a really good idea anyway, download Truecrypt and put everything that you think "they" might be interested in, into a fully encrypted vault in there. Better still, just encrypt your whole damn computer. Then "they" can knock themselves out till the cows come home, without your password they are fucked.

Everyone should be encrypting their personal information as a matter of course, partly because of Gummints (which are notoriously incompetent) but also because of all the other wankers who would like to see inside your HD so they can "target" their marketing. How whould you feel about a nice cold call about 6.30 in the evening to ask if you would like a subscription to "Boy-girlsBuggerBoys.com-- and your mum takes the call?
