What is ironic is that there is a wealth of people who have high-end equipment, professional HD cameras, fancy editing software, and they end up shooting stuff that they barely scratch the surface of what they really could be doing. I have been on shoots where they are trying to do the entire scene in one take, so they won't have to make any cuts at all. And it's nuts that sometimes the finished product still has what almost looks like it's using early 90's Amiga "Video Toaster" graphics..

When I was in LA last year (and I am so- whatever the opposite of "L.A." is) I had to endure a mouthful from some jaded porn guy- who shall remain nameless. He went on and on about how I shouldn't even bother spending my own money making my own cool and quirky products, because it would never ever sell. I don't know if he was saying that the consumer is an idiot and doesn't care, or if that his own "cool ideas" weren't good enough. I've heard lame ideas in just about every creative industry, and I'm sure the porn industry has it's share of them.. And sometimes those ideas are made up on the spot- or made up later. When I did my scene for "Brittany's Transformation" the guys who shot it didn't know what the project was going to be called, and gave me no idea what my "character" was, or why I was doing whatever..

Same thing with a lot of the other DVD series out there.. Producers realized that you could just shoot a bunch of sex or solo scenes, throw them all on a DVD, call it "Transexual whatever # X" and it would sell. Why bother trying to tie them together with a common theme, or have any hint of plot. Unfortunately , that sort of material is what people have come to expect now, and

Also, I hate to say this, but there are a lot of people who shoot porn becuase they couldn't cut it in "real" Hollywood. No so much the actors, but much of the tech guys. And they don't want anyone to know they ever worked in porn.. A lot of the actresses are like that too. That's why in the straight porn business, they just roll out this endless array of non-descript blonde beauties who, if they changed their hair color, you'd think they were a totally different girl. And they have their 8 month career, then fade in to the populace,and don't want anyone to have remembered their films years from now.

I want to make porn films that people will remember 10 years from now. I know, that might be a lot to ask for, but you'd think with a fair amount of just being a TS based on a good sense of theatrics (and fantasy) that it can be done. And it's what the consumer wants, since I think that for a lot of people (who have never met a TS), it really is a fantasy.

And it can be done for little money. I've made my own DVD's on a next-to-nothing budget... I have access to good cameras, and I am skilled at graphic design and Final Cut Pro- and though it's an older version of the editing suite, I am still only using about half it's features.

i agree with the OP but i have to ask. if you see the market lacking in a specific area that many are interested in and have the means and desire to make it why don't you do just that. If you just sit and wait for action you will be waiting for quite some time

I think Tara is thinking in the right direction. I have felt for a long time that creative scenarios would add to the overall production, and perhaps attract some people who are not specifically into ts porn. In order to create more of a storyline the actors would have some dialogue and they might have to reshoot parts. But the concept is, if people remember the story line then someone might watch it specifically for that. Now you might lose some of the hardest hard core fans, but some would watch if their favorite actress still has a lot of screen time. But like Tara says, there are numerous plots where a ts would make a good story. Here’s an example:

A man is leaving his tenth high school reunion, little drunk. As he gets to his car an attractive woman steps out of her car, saying “I must have missed everything”.

There are many directions that story could take that could have sex, but still have plot twists. It could be serious, or comedy.

And one additional thing is that I believe a lot the greatest stories are real life stories. I know that ts women have lived through a lot of interesting situations, and so have their boyfriends. People refer to ts drama on here often. That drama could be a means to make money through story telling, such as movies.
