The Dallas Cowboys officially released cornerback Adam Jones on Monday, saving $1 million against the 2009 salary cap because his four-year, $13.3 million contract didn't have any guaranteed money. Monday was the first day NFL teams could release players. The Cowboys had announced last month that they would cut ties with the cornerback, who was suspended six games last season for an altercation at a Dallas hotel. Jones missed another game with a neck injury. Jones said he will stay in shape by working out with Deion Sanders and several draft-eligible players in the coming weeks. "I still think I'm one of the best players on that team," Jones said. "It is what it is."
