Those are just the kind of preparations that would be necessary to give shelter to hundreds of thousands displaced by a nuclear terrorist strike.

Which If, god forbid, that happened the same people would whine about the gov't. not doing anything.

Nonetheless our country has run detention centers in the past. I am sure there are some Japanese-Americans with some interesting things to say about the idea that "it can't happen here." To say nothing of our native tribes.

Our history hasn't been entirely clean in our imperialistic exploits either. We would be ill-served to forget what our military has done in some far off parts of the globe (for instance, the Philippines). If Root had been using our forces the way he had, against white targets... rest assured he would have been executed for it.

...and no, I don't buy for a minute that anyone is planning to start rounding up dissenters anytime soon. At least, no more or less than the usual.

The bottom line is that, last year most were denying the very existence of these camps. Now that there is unequivocal proof via this congressional bill, their potential functions are being denied. This is how it works, over and over and over. Cue chef any second with some "lunatic fringe" or Bat-shit crazy" or "tinfoil hat" type jargon bullshit.
