    She lived a good life January 17, 1927 – December 25, 2008

She overcame the color barrier in the late 40's unheard of during those times playing in Cabash. Hope the Oscars this year does a special tribute to her. How sad on christmas day and she sang the famous Santa Baby song.

    Oh no.
    What a shame.
She was a REAL star unlike these psuedo stars of today.
She was an example of a black person coming from a poor background and doing well for herself.
She went through a lot coming up but it never stopped her and she became a woman of class and stature, world renown and admired.
    I feel so sad.

I was reading this and I knew from being familiar with her life before that she went through some things but man did she have it rough.
She described herself as "that little urchin cotton-picker from the South, Eartha Mae."
    Wow.
We never saw her as such.
It just goes to show that you dont have to be whatever your upbringing was or your surrounding are.
She elevated herself and became a woman of class and status.
They say her father was a poor white cotton farmer.
People dont understand the mixed race people go through some things because they see both sides and how fucked up they are.
Its a shame she is gone cause that leaves one less legit star around.

Here is another biography about Eartha.
She had it unbelievably hard as a child.
She was essential abandoned by her mother and father as a child.

It just get worse...her past circumstances.
It makes me have even more admiration for what she achieved.
