The gov't can't bail out or rescue anyone. It's hopelessly banktupt itself. https://www.cia.gov/library/publicat.../2187rank.html This is the exteranl debt only. Not the internal debt. The revolution is coming.

Ban layoffs? It would be nice if CEO's and upper management cronies at places like the small three(Ford,GM,and Chrysler) found themselves being indicted under the RICO statutes for their embezzlement. They could share jail cells with the union scum from the UAW(unemployed auto workers). It is really a good idea to make a product someone WANTS TO BUY if you are in a competitive business like auto manufacturing.MAny businesses in the US are or will soon be obsolete. The Postal Service is an excellent example. They do not need six day delivery and if you live in Sh*tneck Wyoming, why should they deliver to you?People in rural areas should have to pick up their mail at PO boxes in larger cities.School teachers will go by thr wayside as well.Throwing money at a school system just to babysit stupid peoples stupid children is a joke.Where do the elitist send their children for their education(not just someone like Sen Frist or VP Chaney)? The Kennedy's and Jesse Jackson sent their children to private schools.Damn right someone should get a voucher to try to better education their child. Also,if your little bastard can not live buy the rules, kick his or her ass out of the public school system and YOU pay to get your cretin a high school degree or GED>

When Krupp AG faced economic hardship, Alfried would go so far as to melt down his gold awards & medals to pay his workers.

Alfried had one of the most progressive, dare I say socialist benefit systems in modern history. His company had its own health care (as in company hospitals, doctors, nurses), daycare, schooling system, nursing homes, everything imaginable & then some to spare. Yet the Krupp family were all neocons, I forget how many Krupp's died serving in WW2, but it was a sizable portion of that generation within the family.

The reason for the socialist aid packages in the company, the reason for selling off even personal belongings to make pay day for the workers was because Krupp knew that in return he would have the best workers around, they would be loyal, they would make less mistakes, and they wouldn't have reason to support the leftist politicians come election time... and all that was just good for business.

These wallstreet executives don't care about what's good for business, they care for what's good for their personal finances- and that's the whole problem. It's short sighted, and it just doesn't work.

Can you imagine an American manufacturing where ceo's sold off PERSONAL yachts, houses, and heirlooms just to make payday?

And maybe its easier to withdraw from life
With all of its misery and wretched lies
If we're dead when tomorrow's gone
The Big Machine will just move on
Still we cling afraid we'll fall
Clinging like the memory which haunts us all
