Wow, does this mean that the bubble in Tranny Escort Prices will actually burst as well.

"The TA index which had surged to $400/30 minutes has now crashed to $100/Hour"

Can't wait to see that on Cnbc, I might just get back into the market again...

New York City is a different beast than the rest of the country- the segment of people that are transsexual admirers cross all cultural and financial lines, so clearly not just bankers are involved.

The article is basically saying that other markets are luring NYC financial workers to other markets. I am mot sure how that relates to night clubs directly-

    BUT

The entertainment and sex industry are not recession proof.

What we will be doing is changing things around a bit, but I am not talking about it yet...
    Allanah,

It's very refreshing to see someone in the industry admit that "the business" is, in fact, NOT recession proof like various recent articles written by people for the various rags who have no clue about the biz have spewed forth. As someone who comes in contact every day with pretty much the entire spectrum of the sex biz here in NYC, I can tell that most of the industry is well off in revenues. In the last few weeks the most telling sign is that several places which are "parties" of various sorts have been running out of gas and closing substantially earlier than usual. Just last night I was at a client's spot whose Wednesday hours are 7PM till 2AM, but called "last call" just after 11PM because it just didn't make sense to stay open any longer with all the customers an girls having left.

I do agree, as usual, with Shining Star, that we'll see a BIG increase in CL as a substitute for many venues. But I'm not sure it's as much for the reason she states, because that only explains why guys who used to pay would now be trying to get it for free. I'm not sure how long that will continue when they see that the girls aren't looking to give it away for free, I think it's just an indication of the financial position of the customer base. however, what we almost always see in this type of situation is that guys don't stop having sex, they just move "down the ladder": guys who used to see $400 an hour independents move down to $200 incalls. And guys who used to make fun of the guys who went to the $40 Spanish quickie houses start asking how you get into them.
