Endemol, huh? Funny, because its a Dutch company, renowned in its native country for commercial/provoking/shock-value programs. But they were quite succesful abroad, I hope that Allanah has profited from one of their shows.

Its headquarters might be officially in the UK now, but the founders of the company are 2 Dutchmen: Joop van den ENDE and John de MOL. Last named guy created Big Brother which had its World Premiere in Holland in the autumn of 1999.
The company was taken over by Telefonica (A Spanish company), while a Canadian company bought a segment of Endemol: Endemol International Distribution. I do not know how it ended up in Britain (possibly by shares?), but the founders are active in Holland; De Mol recently started his own TV Channel, while van den Ende is the current emperor of Theatre Land.
