Barack Obama 'pseudo controversies' hide racism, Ray Suarez
Barack Obama 'pseudo controversies' hide racism, Ray Suarez PBS news anchor says.
Now that Ray Suarez mentions it, I believe racism probably is playing a large role in the 2008 race.
Think about it, could a white man with a name like 'Barack Hussein Obama', who has so little experience, who is affiliated with admitted domestic terrorists, and is a member of a socialist party (DSA New Party) have any shot of ever being a nominee for president?
I think not.
Racism is clearly running rampant in this election cycle.

Both Obama and Ayers were prominent educators in Chicago and both were professors at Chicago Circle. That they would have met each other is inevitable. In the early 90’s both were appointed by the Mayor of Chicago to the Annenberg Project on school reform. In 1995 Ayers supported Obama’s run for office by contributing $200 to his campaign and hosting a fund raising coffee. In 2001 they both served on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago. That seems to be end of their “affiliation”.
Meanwhile Sarah Palin asks when Obama's going to reveal the full extent of this "affiliation"? The affiliation has been revealed. That's it. That's all there is to it. I think it's ironic that Palin herself is so protected from further encounters with the press that she might as well be a cloistered nun. Everyone's being encouraged to ask "who is this Obama guy?"...even though he's been campaigning for 22 months. Palin's been in the public eye for about six weeks. Why are we not encouraged to ask, Who's Sarah Palin?" Oh, we already know...she's white, like us.
Now let’s look at this white guy named Ayers. He’s admitted to being a violent 60’s radical, in your words, a domestic terrorist. Yet, he holds a Distinguished Professorship at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Education. This white guy domestic terrorist was named 1997 Citizen of the Year for his work on education. In particular for his work on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (mentioned already above). How does a white guy domestic terrorist get himself appointed to those kinds of boards and how does he manage to win those kind of accolades? Answer: Either, as guyone says, racism is running rampant; or Ayers never really was that much of a domestic terrorist; or both.
Why is it that McCain is not being judged for his “affiliations” with radical preachers, convicted white collar criminals (Keating) and the numerous assholes responsible for the recent market meltdown? Answer: Either, as guyone says, racism is running rampant; or those associations are as insignificant as the one to which guyone alludes; or both.

McCain was censured by the Senate over the Keating debacle. He apologized profusely for being blatantly stupid enough to get caught.

It's nice to see guyone emerge from his secret undisclosed location long enough to throw a few rocks. So how's life in the underground bunker, guy? Pretty well stocked down there?
yodajazz, DSA is short for Democratic Socialists of America. They support the same principles that Tom Paine did in 'Rights of Man' and 'Common Sense'. Eugene Debs, George Orwell, Martin Luther King, Howard Zinn( 'A People's History of the United States'), Senator Bernie Sanders and author Barbara Ehrenreich ('Nickel and Dimed', hell of a good book, btw) are/were all democratic socialists.
The 'New Party' guyone mentions seems to be a Chicago offshoot of the DSA. They're website states: "In the near term, democratic socialists struggle for reforms that shift power and resources away from corporate elites and put them in the hands of ordinary citizens. In the long term, democratic socialists fight for a world in which all people share equally in the governing of the economic, political and cultural institutions and relationships that shape their lives."
Was Obama a member? Who cares? Sean Hannity says he was, but that bloated tub o' guts wouldn't know the truth if it kicked his teeth in. The Chicago ( or CHEcago - had to toss guyone a little zinger - can't remember atm if it was Abbie Hoffman or Jerry Rubin who came up with that one) DSA endorsed Barack in his run for state senate. No doubt Sarah Palin will be blabbering about it tomorrow and smirking as drunken REICHwing ideologues in her audience scream "Kill him!" and "Off with his head!"

WRONG!
"Senator McCain has violated no law of the United States or specific Rule of the United States Senate; therefore, the committee concludes that no further action is warranted with respect to Senator McCain on the matters investigated during the preliminary inquiry. "

I don't expect anyone here to actually vote for McCain. I just love to stop by once in a while to witness the compassion and acceptance of the left.

And to people on the right it's AFFILIATIONS like Ayers, Rezko, & Stalin that alarm them. Ultimately people with convictions will vote along party lines. You would never vote Republican I would never vote Democratic. Presidents are elected on how many independents they can bullshit.

I see, guyone, that you just don't understand irony. If you aren't alarmed by Keating, why should you be alarmed about Ayers? With the Keating affair there was some question about whether McCain broke the law. The ethics board cleared McCain of wrong-doing and merely suggested he showed bad judgment. On the other hand there's was no hint of anything remotely unethical nor illegal about Obama's minimal acquaintance with Ayers. So again, if you aren't alarmed by McCain's bad judgment, why would you be alarmed by Obama having been appointed to the Annenberg board to which Ayers (Chicago Citizen of the Year 1997) was also appointed?
BTW, I have voted republican (but not yet for president...and that won't happen this time). Don't be so partisan, don't be so presumptuous, and show some sense.
