o/t: 401k accounts....
ok found no better place to put this, as the bank thread was about a month ago. Now that everything has melted some more i found out i lost about 2k in my 401k What are you guys doing with those accounts? obviously I'm not 65 and i think there's an extra penalty for under 25 which i am. How are you guys dealing with your 401k's? I'm thinking of cashing out rather than staying until there's zip left. Hopefully this crisis can be contained...
i think the tax is about 30%-40%

Dude, it's money you won't need for 40 to 50 years. The losses you took now won't mean anything then. Stay put and hang tight.
How am I not myself?

But hey, think of it this way- at least you didn't have an Enron pension!
And maybe its easier to withdraw from life
With all of its misery and wretched lies
If we're dead when tomorrow's gone
The Big Machine will just move on
Still we cling afraid we'll fall
Clinging like the memory which haunts us all

Benefits for even low paying teaching jobs are actually pretty decent, although even that's not a sure thing anymore.
