    Going by high school sex ed I remember the statistic being like a high 95-99% chance of protection from pregnancy...

    From STIs, some viruses are small enough to fit through the microscopic pores in some types of latex and some other materials used. But you got a pretty decent protection from that too...

    Bottom line, unless you're 180% sure your partner/s is/are safe, be smart, use one.

    It depends how you use it a lot of people still don't know how to use them correctly.

    There are different forms of condoms which offer better protection then others but most if used correctly will offer 95% protection against infection and pregnancy also use the correct lubes this will increase protection.

    So even if using a condom it is still wise to use other forms of protection also.
