I believe they're hi def, and hi def movies generally require more computer horsepower. If you do have an older computer then the first step might be to upgrade RAM. Most of the Pentium III's and IV's came with 512 MB or 1 GB. You can pick up a 2 GB upgrade for cheap and see if that works. It's not a bad investment because all of your downloaded HI DEF movies will play better. Everything will go faster... including surfing the net.

If you don't want to upgrade... try this.

1. Turn off all auto-load programs. Things like Yahoo IM, bit torrent programs, anything running in the bkgrnd that can easily be turned off.
2. Restart your computer
3. Play the videos on clean re-boot.

you might also use the classic windows media player or vlc. These 2 players generally handle things a little more efficiently.
