It is effeminate gay men who typically idolise Cher and Madonna. In fact, a real transsexual is as likely to idolise them as any other woman.

Thus, the transsexuals you see idolising those glam queens are often transsexual in everything except the sexual, that is to say some of the "pre-ops for life" or "non-ops"... people who do not display the same kind of intense gender dysphoria as real transsexuals who despise(d) their own male genitalia. Some are arguably nothing more than gay men glammed up like the glam queens they idolise.

Not to denigrate the strategy these queens pursue. They know there are multitudes of "straight" men who will use the over-the-top make-up and Cher-style dress as license to pursue their own cock-fantasies without the gay guilt.
