If a girl was playing the field then I wouldn't enter into a committed relationship.

While I can intellectually understand that an escort is not entering into an emotional commitment with a client and uses him for income, as he uses her to satisfy a need, I'd find it difficult to accept this arrangement.

I would have said never but, as Trish rightly says, never say never.

Okay, I’ll elaborate.

The variations of sexual practices among humans are multitudinous. There are happy Mormon sister wives. There are voyeur husbands whose wives happily comply to have sex with other men. There are satisfied swingers. There are happily married couples who only ever do the missionary position. There are satisfied couples who never copulate. There are men who are happily married to escorts and there are self-respecting women who knowingly marry philanderers. There happy henpecked husbands and happy submissive housewives. There are happily married husbands who occasionally buy the services of a hooker. Just think of the people you know and you can probably give examples. There are lots of unhappy people in relationships too. The field is just too big to to be confined by absolutes. There are over 6 billion people in the world.

Let’s do a little math. Lop the 6 billion in half to 3 billion just to make sure we exclude children from consideration. Half of that (1.5 billion) are men. The other half consists of women. What percent of all women are prostitutes or promiscuous? Let’s be conservatively small and say only 0.1% (we’re all sure it’s much larger than that because that’s only 1.5 million). So how many possible male female pairs can we make in which the woman is either a promiscuous or a prostitute? Easy…1.5 billion times 1.5 million which yields 2.25 times 10 to the 15th power! There are 2.25 quadrillion possible pairs consisting of a man and a promiscuous woman or a man and a prostitute. Remember, this is a very conservative estimate. So what are the odds that absolutely none of these pairs could live together with self and mutual respect, happily ever after? Pretty fuckin’ small is the answer.

Once again: in regards to whether or not a given pair can make a go of it, very little can be said with certainty. One should hardly ever say "never."

Any one who says with absolute certainty that “Such a girl is not relationship material” is just projecting their own inability to accept “such a girl” onto the woman herself. There’s nothing wrong with saying YOU don’t want to consider an open relationship. But to claim women who insist on open relationships are lower life forms is immoral.
